Official state police portals (e.g. delhipolice.gov.in, ksp.gov.in, mumbaipolice.gov.in) are the primary authority for station listings, contact numbers, and jurisdictions.
Ministry of Home Affairs
National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) and MHA annual reports provide state-wise and district-wise station counts and coverage data.
District Administration Portals
District Collector and district administration websites publish police station information as part of emergency services directories.
Right to Information (RTI) Responses
RTI responses filed by civic organisations and individuals provide ground-truth data for stations that are not well-documented online.
Community Corrections
Verified corrections submitted by users through our corrections form. All corrections are checked against official sources before being applied.
Local Government Gazettes
Gazette notifications announcing new police stations, boundary changes, or jurisdictional reorganisations provide authoritative record of changes.

Known Limitations
Rural station coverage
Remote and rural police stations in some states are less comprehensively documented. We are actively expanding coverage.
Phone number churn
Station landline numbers change more frequently than addresses. We recommend calling to confirm before visiting.
Newly established stations
Stations established in the last 6 months may not yet be indexed. Use our corrections form to report a missing station.
Jurisdictional boundary changes
District and station jurisdiction boundaries periodically change due to administrative reorganisations.
